The Founder
My purpose in birthing Footprints Press was to seek a platform where we could curate our stories, as children of the 20th & 21st century Africa. Eschewing the often pejorative narratives so often uni-focal and relayed by others, I am keen to present us as we are – in these present-day truths. The contemporary visual vignettes of us by us are for our children and the children’s children. So, whether through essays, poetry, photography, fiction or non-fiction work, we aspire to celebrate Africa today and to do this through unfiltered primary voices. Years hence we might sift through these compilations and marvel at Africa’s resident, multi-faceted and unyielding glory.
